How we train our teachers
Our teachers are trained continuously.
- ELITE (English Language Improvement for Teaching Excellence): A 30-hour structured programme run by Bellwether's academic team to strengthen teachers' spoken and written English, classroom communication and confidence. Teachers across the Bellwether network completed the most recent cohort in October 2026.
- AI and technology in teaching: Dedicated sessions on using digital tools and AI responsibly to plan lessons, create material and support differentiated learning.
- Subject and pedagogy workshops: Regular sessions on subject content, lesson delivery, classroom management, assessment design and early-years methodology.
- Classroom observation and feedback: Teachers are observed in class and given specific, written developmental feedback, the single most effective way to improve teaching quality.
- Induction for new teachers: Every new teacher goes through a structured induction before taking a classroom independently.

- Trained teachers: Every teacher at MauryanHigh is part of a year-round training programme, not left to manage alone after induction.
- A reviewed classroom: Teaching here is observed, measured and improved. An external team carries out academic audits on a fixed schedule, not only when something goes wrong.
- A tested curriculum: Our academic plan is used and refined across multiple schools, so it has been through more than one year of real classrooms.
- Local school, national standards: Decisions about your child are made by people on this campus who know them, within a framework built and monitored centrally.
- Accountability: If something in the classroom isn't working, there is a defined academic authority above the school to escalate it to.
